The Student Movement Ministry at Hope Chrisitan Church will gather from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday, November 23rd, to make Fresh Start Personal Hygiene Kits to support the work of the Central Union Mission. This faith-based non-profit organization is the oldest private social service agency in DC. The mission strives to demonstrate Christ’s love and compassion by serving the homeless and underprivileged.

Many who go to the Mission every day do not have access to personal hygiene products, so it is helpful to be able to supply them with a Fresh Start Personal Hygiene kit. Our goal is to make 100 kits.

You can support us in this effort by donating the following items for the kits: 

Quart-size ziplock bags
Travel-size tissue pack
Travel-size disposable hand wipes
Disposable razor
Travel-size shaving cream
Travel-size hand lotion
Travel-size bar of soap
Travel-size cotton swabs or 2-3 cotton swabs
Travel-size antibacterial ointment
Bandaids
Small washcloth
White athletic socks
Small bottles of water or juice

 

Donated items are accepted after service on Sunday, November 17th, in the HCC boulevard or between 9:30 am and 10:30 am on Saturday, November 23rd, at HCC.
